About this role
Quality Assurance at Makro Myanmar ensures that the products on the wholesale floor meet the standards expected by business customers who buy in bulk for their own operations. This role covers quality checks across multiple product categories at the Mingalar Taung Nyunt and Insein locations, from dry goods to fresh produce to non-food items. In a wholesale environment, quality failures affect not just one consumer but an entire restaurant, retailer, or institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular quality inspections across store departments including receiving, shelf, and pre-dispatch checks
- Verify that products meet labeling requirements including expiry dates, ingredient lists, and origin markings
- Monitor temperature compliance for chilled and frozen product displays
- Document quality issues, quarantine non-compliant stock, and coordinate returns or disposals
- Train department staff on quality awareness and basic inspection techniques
- Compile quality reports for management review highlighting trends and recurring supplier issues
Requirements:
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, or food safety in a retail, wholesale, or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality standards relevant to food and non-food products in a wholesale setting
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle quality deviations across diverse product categories
- Good written communication for documenting findings and preparing reports
- Understanding of basic quality management principles such as root cause analysis

2+ years of relevant experience, Good communication skills in Myanmar and English, Computer literacy, Strong work ethic and reliability
