About this role

The HR Operation Manager at Makro Myanmar is responsible for the end-to-end operational execution of human resources functions supporting a workforce of hundreds across multiple store locations. Based in Mingalar Taung Nyunt, this senior role oversees payroll processing, labor law compliance, employee record management, and HR systems that keep the wholesale operation staffed and legally compliant. The position requires balancing strategic HR thinking with the practical demands of managing a large retail workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly payroll processing for all employees ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with tax and social security regulations
  • Ensure full compliance with Myanmar labor laws including employment contracts, working hours, leave management, and termination procedures
  • Manage and optimize HR information systems for employee data, attendance tracking, and reporting
  • Lead a team of HR officers handling day-to-day employee relations, onboarding, and administrative queries
  • Develop and implement HR standard operating procedures across all store locations
  • Partner with department heads on workforce planning, staffing levels, and organizational structure

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of HR operations experience with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
  • Thorough knowledge of Myanmar labor law, social security, and employment tax regulations
  • Experience managing payroll for organizations with 500 or more employees
  • Strong process orientation with the ability to standardize HR operations across multiple locations

Requirements

5+ years in HR management, Deep knowledge of Myanmar labor law and SSB, Payroll management experience, Team leadership experience, HR degree or professional qualification
