About this role

Role overview Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery at Nippon Paint's coating manufacturing facility in Yangon. This senior role ensures continuous production by minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining machinery to international safety and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for mixers, filling lines, grinding mills, and packaging machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical failures on production equipment and carry out repairs to restore operations quickly
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs including parts replaced, failure causes, and time-to-repair metrics
  • Coordinate with production managers to schedule maintenance during planned downtime windows
  • Source and manage spare parts inventory, liaising with local and overseas suppliers
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with workplace safety regulations and manufacturer specifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant
  • Strong diagnostic skills and experience with industrial mixing, pumping, and packaging equipment
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and spare parts management
  • Ability to work under pressure when production lines require urgent repairs

What success looks like Production lines run at target availability rates with unplanned downtime kept to a minimum through proactive maintenance practices.

Skills
