Managing the general ledger and sub-ledgers for a company engaged in international trade demands precision, particularly when dealing with multiple currencies and complex trade costs. The Ledger Accountant at Kozicol Intertrade ensures that all financial transactions related to exports, imports, and logistics are accurately posted, reconciled, and reported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post and reconcile all journal entries related to international trade transactions, ensuring proper account coding
  • Handle foreign currency revaluations and track exchange rate fluctuations impacting trade payables and receivables
  • Monitor and reconcile customs duty accounts, tax withholdings, and freight forwarding costs
  • Prepare detailed ledger reports, trial balances, and reconciliation statements for management review
  • Coordinate with the logistics and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies between shipping documents and financial records
  • Support internal and external audits by providing detailed ledger analysis and supporting documentation

Requirements:

  • Solid background in ledger accounting, with specific experience in a trading, manufacturing, or logistics company
  • Strong understanding of multi-currency accounting principles and foreign exchange management
  • Familiarity with trade finance terminology, such as letters of credit, bills of exchange, and incoterms
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in enterprise accounting software
  • High level of accuracy and the ability to spot discrepancies in complex transaction trails
