The Fish department at Makro Myanmar handles fresh and frozen seafood products that are essential to the restaurant and food service customers who form the core of Makro's wholesale business. This role manages the daily operations of the fish section across Mingalar Taung Nyunt and Insein, ensuring that products meet strict freshness and safety standards while the display area remains clean and appealing to professional buyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily receiving of fish and seafood products, checking quality, temperature, and supplier documentation
- Maintain proper cold chain storage and display conditions to preserve product freshness
- Prepare and package seafood products according to customer orders and bulk purchase requests
- Monitor stock rotation rigorously to prevent spoilage and minimize waste
- Ensure the fish section complies with food safety regulations and internal hygiene standards
- Assist wholesale customers with product selection, pricing, and availability information
Requirements:
- Experience in seafood handling, fish mongering, or fresh food retail preferably in a wholesale setting
- Knowledge of fish and seafood varieties, freshness indicators, and safe storage temperatures
- Physical capability to work in cold storage environments and handle heavy loads
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices required for perishable goods
- Willingness to work early morning shifts aligned with fresh product receiving schedules
