About this role
Working in the Dry Food department at Makro Myanmar means managing one of the highest-volume product categories in the wholesale store. Business customers including restaurants, caterers, and grocery retailers depend on Makro for reliable supplies of rice, cooking oil, canned goods, spices, and packaged dry foods. This role ensures the department is stocked, organized, and maintained to the standards expected by professional buyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to replenish dry food shelves promptly
- Ensure products are displayed according to planograms with correct pricing labels visible
- Rotate stock following first-in-first-out principles to minimize expiration and waste
- Conduct quality checks on incoming dry food shipments for damaged packaging or expired items
- Assist wholesale customers with locating specific products and understanding bulk pricing tiers
- Maintain department cleanliness and compliance with food safety storage requirements
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in grocery, food retail, or wholesale is preferred
- Knowledge of dry food categories, shelf life management, and food storage best practices
- Physical stamina to lift and move bulk packages throughout the shift
- Organized approach to managing a large number of SKUs in a fast-paced environment
- Basic numeracy for verifying prices and calculating bulk order totals
