About this role
Assisting the head chef in preparing meals for the company's hospitality and food service operations requires speed, precision, and a solid understanding of culinary fundamentals. The Demi Chef at Innopex Company works in a fast-paced kitchen environment, taking responsibility for specific stations and ensuring that dishes meet established quality standards before they reach the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning, according to daily prep lists and recipes
- Cook and plate menu items assigned to your station while maintaining consistent taste and presentation standards
- Monitor food stock levels in the kitchen and communicate inventory needs to the head chef or procurement team
- Ensure all food handling, storage, and preparation activities strictly adhere to hygiene and safety regulations
- Assist in training and guiding kitchen helpers and new staff on basic culinary techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times
Requirements:
- Culinary arts diploma, vocational training, or equivalent professional kitchen experience
- Proven experience working as a commis chef or demi chef in a restaurant, hotel, or catering facility
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work under pressure during peak dining hours while maintaining high quality
- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of standing and working in a hot environment
