Role overview Develop and execute communication strategies that raise awareness about Rural Development Initiative's mission, programs, and impact in rural communities across Myanmar. This role translates complex development work into compelling narratives for donors, partners, media, and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Write and produce content including press releases, case studies, annual reports, and donor updates
- Manage the organization's social media channels and website with mission-driven content
- Coordinate with program teams to gather stories, data, and photographs from field activities
- Build relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage of the organization's work
- Develop communication materials for community engagement and stakeholder meetings
- Ensure all communications adhere to donor visibility requirements and organizational messaging guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Development Studies, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably in the NGO or development sector
- Strong writing and editing skills in English; Myanmar language proficiency is highly valued
- Experience with social media management and digital content creation
- Understanding of development sector communication ethics, including beneficiary protection and consent
