Leading a commercial bank branch in Mandalay requires balancing aggressive business growth targets with strict regulatory compliance and high customer service standards. The Branch Manager at IBK Bank Myanmar is responsible for the overall performance, risk management, and daily operations of the branch, serving as the primary representative of the bank in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct all branch operations including deposit mobilization, loan disbursement, and customer service activities
- Develop and execute local business strategies to achieve deposit, lending, and fee-income targets
- Ensure strict compliance with central bank regulations, anti-money laundering policies, and internal risk frameworks
- Recruit, train, and mentor branch staff to maintain high professional standards and operational efficiency
- Manage the branch's credit portfolio by overseeing loan appraisals and monitoring asset quality
- Build and maintain relationships with key local businesses, government offices, and high-net-worth clients
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or MBA
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking sector, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Deep understanding of commercial banking products, credit risk assessment, and regulatory requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive business growth while maintaining a robust risk management culture
