About this role

Role overview Manage tax compliance and tax-related accounting for Sankoyo Frontier Myanmar, a Japanese-affiliated construction and real estate firm in Mayangone. This specialized role ensures that the company meets all Myanmar tax obligations while optimizing its tax position within legal boundaries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns including commercial tax, withholding tax, and income tax
• Calculate and process tax withholdings on employee salaries, contractor payments, and vendor invoices
• Maintain detailed tax records and supporting documentation for audit readiness
• Monitor changes in Myanmar tax legislation and advise management on potential impacts
• Coordinate with external tax consultants and the Internal Revenue Department on assessments and disputes
• Assist in corporate tax planning and ensure compliance with Japan-Myanmar tax treaty provisions where applicable

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a specialization in taxation
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in construction, real estate, or multinational-affiliated companies
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar tax laws, regulations, and filing procedures
• Experience dealing with the Internal Revenue Department and external tax advisors
• Proficiency in accounting software and tax computation tools
